About the OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for Platform Readiness Maintenance Lead to join the Destroyer Capability Enhancement (DCE) Program based in Osborne, SA. The DCE program will provide a number of capability upgrades to the existing Hobart Class guided missile destroyers (DDGs).
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight.
Reporting to the Test & Commissioning (T&C) Manager, the Platform Readiness Maintenance Lead is primarily responsible for managing the maintenance elements of the Destroyer Capability Enhancement, Test and Commissioning Program.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the generation of the maintenance strategies and plans, ensuring all maintenance documents are in line with the program and business plans and framework
- Managing the scope of the T&C maintenance program, and the integration of this scope into the Destroyer Capability Enhancement Program.
- Develop and manage the maintenance schedules and budgets, including the associated risk profiles within the maintenance deferrals and ensure the program is sound.
- Responsible for the recruitment, people management and leadership of the maintenance support team, working collaboratively with the T&C Manager to execute the test & commissioning maintenance program scope, including identification of necessary skillsets, training/upskilling and cross-training of resources
- Lead the T&C maintenance team to complete allocated and vetted workpacks
- Ensure all job card are vetted and ready for T&C execution, objective quality evidence is captured, consolidated and checked for submission
- Leading the T&C maintenance department interaction with the Operations, Quality, Engineering and T&C teams to support the sourcing of engineering solutions when required to execute maintenance activities
- Responsible for providing reports, data, graphs and spreadsheets to stakeholders as required
About YOU
- Experience: Demonstrated experience of maintenance requirements, with a good understanding of production practices and methods in a complex environment
- Qualification: Relevant tertiary qualification or experience in a similar role
- Outcomes focused: Strong problem solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure and manage multi task simultaneously
- Communication skills: Superior communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with employees and customers at all levels
- Integrity: Demonstrated professional integrity and advanced level of technical knowledge
- Continuous improvement: A focus on always improving, with the ability to identify dependencies, risks, and opportunities
Defence Clearances: Possess or be eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate defence security clearance and eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR)regulations
