About the OPPORTUNITY
We have a great opportunity for a Project Manufacturing Manager to join our Advanced Manufacturing team based at Adelaide, South Australia, reporting to the Lead Manufacturing Project Manager. This role 100% site based.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight.
You will be responsible for tracking and reporting status against the projects production schedule, cost and quality requirements. You will drive the program through the manufacturing process, co-ordinating all work required for successful delivery to internal and external customers. In this role you will be reporting to the lead project manager and supplying ongoing status updates to internal stakeholders for them to relay onto the end customer. Being able to build strong relationships with project schedulers, engineering, procurement and production is vital for this role.
Key responsibilities include:
- Be the owner and main point of contact in Advanced Manufacturing for escalation of threats for one of our key projects
- Track and communicate of Project status against contracted delivery and cost performance
- Look ahead for potential timing threats and in conjunction with the manufacturing team come up with ways to avoid/minimise impact to delivery & other customer KPIs
- Work closely with production manufacturing staff to ensure there is adequate resources (personal & equipment) available for the forecasted load
- Work closely with procurement and scheduling to ensure that purchased parts are available in a timely manner driving towards scheduled material ready dates (MRD)
- Drive tracking and closure of open action items, across engineering, procurement, staffing & resources
- Contributes to continuous improvement process
About YOU
- Prior Project management/ planning experience is considered desirable
- Demonstrated ability to priorities/ escalate tasks and when required is essential
- Ability to development suitable process documentation is considered desirable
- Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain a Baseline clearance
- Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations
- A background in cost reporting and Earned Value Management (EVM) would make you suitable for consideration at a senior level.
