About the OPPORTUNITY
We have a new opportunity for a Isolation Technician – Mechanical to join our Maritime Sustainment Program based at Osborne, SA reporting to the High Risk Lead.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, <such as working a 9-day fortnight.
You will be responsible for Reporting to the High-Risk Lead, the Isolation Technician is accountable for the management of correct isolations of systems and/or equipment in accordance with established procedures for Platform Installer on Destroyer Capability Enhancement (DCE) vessels. This role includes a high degree of integration with the DCE Operations team and is responsible for the day-to-day implementation of isolations for DCE activities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assist in the preparation and provision of Isolation information to enable the production mechanical teams and contractors to conduct works.
- Meet Isolation requirements, whilst maintaining safety and processes.
- Assist in the development and/or preparation of accurate Isolation documentation.
- Be available to undertake off-site isolations or training deployments.
- Partner with the Ship Delivery teams to ensure all isolations are issued in line with delivery team requirements.
- Participate in aligned and integrated safety-first culture across the DCE project, ensuring processes are best practice and appropriate to our working environment/s
- Participate in a customer centric “one team” culture, improving employee engagement, collaboration, and teamwork, especially where it relates to the High Risk Team.
- Optimise performance through embedding a continuous improvement culture.
About YOU
- Hold relevant Mechanical trades qualification.
- Prior experience working as a Naval Technician is considered desirable.
- Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain NV1 Clearance
- Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic in Arms (ITAR) regulations
