About the OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for a System Administrator to join our Aircraft Sustainment & Training (AST) Business Unit based at NSW-RAAF Base Williamtown.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working.
Reporting to the Senior Systems Administrator, you will support the Network Administrator in ensuring network reliability, security, and performance.
You will provide technical support to end-users and helps resolve network-related issues.
Key responsibilities include:
- Diagnosing and resolving technical issues
- Providing desktop and server support on premises
- Supporting and maintaining Oracle and SQL databases, Cisco Security devices, HP Networking devices, Microsoft Servers and Desktops, data backup processes, asset management information
- Creating purchase requisitions for IT hardware/ software
- Ensuring licensing for all software purchased is recorded and maintained
- Setting up new users and disabling expired accounts
- Writing and updating system documentation
- Providing out of hours support where applicable
About YOU
- Knowledge of Active Directory, networking protocols and concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, VLANs
- Good understanding of databases, computer systems and networking
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Experience in executing work in accordance with procedures
- Excellent MS Office skills, especially in Word and Excel
- Preferred experience – Cyber Security, Unix, Hyper-V, Cisco Security
- Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain
- Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations
