About the OPPORTUNITY
We currently have a newly created opportunity for a Production Coordinator to join our team based at our Osborne Naval Shipyard Offices, SA. We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and/or hybrid working.
As the Production Coordinator you will be responsible for supporting the Production Superintendent & Supervisors (Piping) in delivering activities associated with the manufacture & install of ship products. In addition to this, you will organize activities and tasks for specific projects, whilst ensuring all activities associated with the manufacture, production and assembly of components are completed in accordance with safety, quality, cost, delivery, people (SQCDP) and customer requirements.
You will be responsible for:
- Support Superintendent & Supervisors in delivering production outputs.
- prepare work tasks, ensuring prerequisites (e.g. isolation scaffolding, rigging requests) are completed in readiness for work.
- Prioritize tasks aligned with the schedule and update the Ship's Plan of the Day (SPOD).
- Resolve issues and manage non-conformances, escalating when needed.
- Check material availability to ensure production flow.
- Track actions, coordinate activities, and document meeting minutes.
- Prepare reports on trade performance and metrics.
- Plan test segments and ensure readiness before production.
- Identify and support continuous improvement opportunities.
- Assist in developing trade training packages.
About YOU
- Australia Citizen, eligible to obtain and maintain a defence security clearance (Essential).
- Recognised relevant trade Cert III qualification or role experience in engineering domain.
- Working production experience, and experience in reading engineering drawings, wiring lists and manuals.
- Excellent communication skills at all levels.
- Well-developed self-management skills and demonstrated ability to work under own initiative to deliver outputs safely to quality, cost and time (SQCDP).
- proficient in Excel, including formulas and data analysis, and skilled in PowerPoint and other office tools is desirable.
