About the OPPORTUNITY:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Test & Commissioning (T&C) Integrated Platform Management System (IPMS) Technician to join our team on a permanent full-time basis.
As part of the T&C team, you'll play a key role in the maintenance, Set to Work (STW), testing, and commissioning of the HCFP's cutting-edge IPMS. Reporting to the IPMS Lead, you'll work with the latest Defence technology, ensuring seamless integration of critical systems including but not limited to air conditioning, fire protection, engines, HVAC, doors, and fresh water management.
Based at our Osborne Shipyard in Adelaide, we offer flexible work options, including hybrid arrangements and a 9-day fortnight to help you balance work and life.
Key RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct STW, testing, commissioning and maintenance of the IPMS.
- Bring your technical expertise to the team—share knowledge, drive best practices, and foster continuous improvement.
- Complete IPMS test documentation and where required, data input within applicable electronic toolsets.
- Ensure testing and commissioning activities are completed safely, following WHS legislation and BAE Systems SHE policies.
- Work with the IPMS Lead to execute the program, identify skill gaps, upskill the team, and ensuring knowledge is shared across roles.
- Assist in creating T&C strategies and plans that align with broader business objectives.
- Support the Verification & Acceptance team in delivering successful verification activities.
- Collaborate with Operations, Quality, and Engineering teams to ensure testing aligns with robust engineering solutions.
About YOU:
- 5–10 years of relevant Test and Commissioning experience, ideally with IPMS on ships (desirable)
- Strong planning and coordination skills to keep tasks on track.
- Problem solver and team player—works across functions to tackle technical challenges.
- Direct experience with commissioning, testing, and verification.
- Holds a relevant and industry recognised qualification.
- Experience with computer-based commissioning docs, risk assessments, and work instructions.
- Professional, technically sharp, and able to work independently.
