About the OPPORTUNITY
We currently have 2 exciting opportunities to join us as Manufacturing Officers on our Hunter Class Frigate Program within our Maritime Australia line of business.
This opportunity will provide you with comprehensive training in all aspects of manufacturing, enabling you to develop a deep understanding of core responsibilities such as production processes, quality control, safety protocols, and efficient resource utilisation.
This role will be based out of our Osborne Shipyard in Adelaide. We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Participating in safety briefings, audits and inspections and discussing related manufacturing processes
- Engaging in cross-functional meetings with different departments to understand their roles in manufacturing
- Contributing to the appropriate systems, procedures and controls to enhance the efficiency of manufacturing processes
- Inspecting raw materials and finished products for quality standards
- Assisting in conducting quality tests and measurements including documenting and reporting
- Assisting in manual handling and managing inventory levels and stock control
- Learning to interpret production schedules and plan material requirements
- Assisting in the Production Planning end to end process and systems
- Understanding the use of material and resource management software
- Collaborating with the design and engineering teams to understand product specifications
- Assisting in developing, reviewing and interpreting engineering drawings and designs in the 3D modelling tool.
- Working closely with manufacturing engineers to optimise production processes
- Supporting Quality Control, quality assurance and dimensional control process and systems both in the shipyard and vendors.

- Demonstrated Computer literacy with intermediate knowledge of MS Suite along with SharePoint
