About the OPPORTUNITY
We currently have a exciting opportunity for Production Supervisor to join our Maritime Australia business based at Osborne, SA.
Reporting to the Trade Superintendent – ASC Shipbuilding, you will be responsible for running and overseeing the day to day required activities to ensure the successful project delivery across the shipyard within a manufacturing environment in accordance with the developed trade plan.
This role involves also leading teams to support production work on blocks, ships and other related tasks within the shipyard. It will ensure all activities associated with the manufacture, production and assembly of components are produced in the most cost effective way whilst maintaining an efficient use of resources and meeting all safety, design, quality and budget requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supervise team across alternate shifts and ensure that services are in accordance with the manufacturing plan
- Collaborate with the relevant Trade Superintendent to ensure all equipment used by the team is certified, tested, and inspected as required
- Manage the team's safety and quality standards, working to meet or exceed performance targets and ensure all equipment and areas are well maintained in a safe and organized manner
- Responsible to manage the training for personnel ensuring that only trained and competent personnel perform tasks as per their competencies
- Implement resource planning as directed by the Trade Superintendent
- Collaborate effectively to develop and maintain good relationships with internal stakeholders, external stakeholders and industry partners to maintain a positive culture
- Ensure compliance with the SHE Management System, mitigating risks and improving overall SHE performance
About YOU
- Demonstrated experience in defence maritime shipbuilding coupled with technical trade/production leadership experience
- Experience and or extensive knowledge in chemical composites, 2 pack component application, mixing and 2 pack chemical component application processes to various substrates
- Trade qualification and extensive knowledge and experience working with various steel surface preparation methods
- Experience in vacuum bagging within industrial environment in either manufacturing or repairing composites
- Sound knowledge in industrial chemical application processes and fairing ships surface curvature including resurfacing finishing techniques
- Well-developed self management skill with an ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality to safeguard and protect sensitive information
- Ability to balance conflicting priorities to deliver against customer and business requirements with appropriate stakeholder management
- NACE 2 Qualification or equivalent is essential
